Bonjour Friends!
I filled out this little Etsy Seller questionnaire to give you all a better idea of who "Bonjour Frenchie" is.
Tell us a bit about yourself.
My name is Jessica Turnbow. I will be 25 years old on November 22nd of this year. I was born on the cusp, meaning I have both Scorpio and Sagittarius characteristics. I was born with blonde highlights on only one side of my head, bizarre coincidence? My Mom says the Blonde side is my sweet side, the brunette side is my mischievous side ;)
Apart from creating things, what do you do?
I enjoy riding my sweet Pink bike around town, snapping photo's and racing my boyfriend (who has the male version of my bike in midnight blue!) I work full-time in the mortgage industry and have 2 shops,
Bonjour Frenchie and
Chez Jolly, both keep me very busy!
What would be the title of your memoir? Why?
"Wanderlust"
I went through some traumatic events as a teenager. I was put on all different types of medication to help me cope with things, most of them made me feel like a zombie. I was completely lost and had no idea what I wanted to do in life! At age 18, I started dating the love of my life, Jason. Little by little, my life began to change for the better. On our 3 year anniversary, we took our first real vacation together...Paris! Wandering the streets of Paris, the Louvre museum and Marie Antoinette's gardens at Versailles changed my life. I found my passion for Travel, Art and History. When I came back, I went back to school, studied Art History and began painting. Today, you can find images from my trip to Paris in my Photography shop, as well as some watercolors inspired by the beautiful city of Paris in my Bonjour Frenchie shop. "Wanderlust" refers to those with a passion for travel, wandering and exploring. Wandering around Paris was a turning point in my life and that is why I would title my memoir, "Wanderlust"

Where does your inspiration come from?
My inspiration comes from Sofia Coppola's interpretation of "Marie Antoinette." The Laduree color palette, the femininity, the history and the story inspire me daily.
When did you know you were an artist/maker?
As a little girl, I was always creating things. I loved making animals out of paper bags, taking photos of myself jumping off of my piano, writing little short stories and drawing nature with color markers. As I grew up, I forgot about these things and didn't start up the creative process again until after my trip to Paris.
If you could peek inside the studio of any artist, designer or craftsman (dead or alive), who would it be?
Johannes Vermeer. One of the greatest artists to have ever lived. He specialized in domestic interior scenes of the middle class and did them beautifully. Not much is known about Vermeer and that adds to the mysterious beauty in his work.
Where would you like to be in ten years?
In ten years, I would love to spend my days traveling, painting and photographing. I would love to have my own series of books, live with my amazing boyfriend (someday I will be able to say Husband!) in a beautiful house with a beautiful Art studio. I would love to have my own stock photo website and several online stores. Stay tuned!
