Special Guest Susi - Dreamy French Spaces!
Hi, I’m Susi, a writer for Design Shuffle, a community where interior designers, home enthusiasts, and other design professionals showcase their design projects, share inspirations, and network. One of my favorite things about my job is visiting fabulous blogs as a guest blogger. I'm excited to be here at Bonjour Frenchie today writing about dreamy French spaces. What is it about French style that is so romantic, elegant and chic? Here are eight dreamy French rooms that caught my eye. Curvy lines of furniture, sparkling chandeliers, and soft, sophisticated pastels with lots of gray and white are some of the gorgeous interior design ideas seen in these dreamy spaces. Hope you enjoy them!Pinterest viaThis dreamy French dining room is centered by a gorgeous antique French country dining table and sparkling glass chandelier. The painted buffet creates architectural interest on the wall.New England Furniture viaGlamorous French giltwood furniture turns this bedroom into a dreamy, romantic space. Soft pastels and grays look wonderful against the warm gold.Conspicuous Style viaThis French dining room is so chic. Love the voluminous linen table cloth paired with the tailored French arm chairs. Topiaries and mirrors add additional French flair.House Beautiful viaThis French hotel style bathroom sparkles with silver accents and bathroom design ideas. A soaking tub in silver adds glamour to the antique filled space.Pinterest viaFrench style in all white has a shabby chic elegance. This dreamy bedroom design is full of French details in the furnishings and linens.Classy in the City viaI adore the blue velvet chaise longue in this dreamy room. Creams make up the palette on the walls and curtains. Love the millinery inspired lampshade.Monaco Interiors viaFrench blue is such a dreamy color for bedroom designs. Love the mix of Parisian and country in this bedroom. Love the beautiful pendant hanging from the beamed ceiling.Fixr viaFrench provincial style furniture and a sparkling classic crystal chandelier are gorgeous in this simple room. Herringbone wood floors are so French and so chic. This room is so dreamy and romantic. Did you fall in love with these French Spaces? Artist of the month, March 2011: LouisestArt
For the month of March, I chose an Artist whose work I admire very much. Louise van Terheijden is a talented Dutch artist with a very whimsical style, which is my ultimate favorite. Her work is inspiring and fun to look at. Here is a little interview with Louise;
What inspires you?
What inspires me most is people, their relationships, their dreams, desires, what makes them sad, happy,etc.
Nature has a big influence on my art, as well as Henri Matisse. His use of color inspires me!
What is your technique?
For example, in the series, "Violas." I studied trees and flowers and made collages of them and in the end they ended up in a digital piece of art (using programs such as Illustrator and Photoshop.)
How is your art different from other artists?
I can’t tell what is different in general from other artists, I like to think of my Art as unique in the Poetic way I express it.
Why do you do this particular kind of art (or use this particular technique)?
Being able to produce prints makes it possible to make affordable Art. People can enjoy my work at home.
I keep the editions limited so they are still unique.
